"Plan to spend a day or more here. You can sign up for the free tour which is well worth it for the scenery alone. It was wonderful to see what a great job these people do with the dontations they receive. Then plan to spend a half day or more volunteering. We chose Dogtown and had a blast playing with the dogs, feeding and watering them, even picking up poop wasn't so bad! These animals are very well cared for and definitely have it better than a lot of animals that live with well intended people. Lunch was $4 and was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had! It was vegetarian of course and was amazingly good. I expected it to be bland and uneventful which was hardly the case! One of the original founders of the place actually joined us for lunch and we had a great time talking to him. I highly recommend this place if you are anywhere in the area. "Zion%rsquos National Park is Utah%rsquos oldest National Park and one of it%rsquos most beautiful. One drawback is that it is a very heavily traveled park and has a shuttle system available to take visitors to the most popular areas. The shuttles are free and run every few minutes. If you are entering from the South Entrance, it is recommended you board a shuttle in the town of Springdale, just outside the park, or at the campgrounds, visitor center or museum. Parking is extremely limited in other areas, especially inside the park. The shuttles provide the ONLY access to marquee attractions like the Great White Throne, the Watchman, the Grotto, Angels Landing, Weeping Rock and the Temple of Sinawava. One more note is that if you are driving or towing an RV there are additional fees if you have to go through the tunnel on highway 9. Zion%rsquos Park is a Mecca for hikers and bikers alike. "The Dunes were fantastic!! I could not believe the beautiful colors! Well worth the fee and the drive down. You think that once you've seen a sand dune you've seen them all. Not So!!!!!!!!! The color ranges from yellow to beautiful shades of pink! If you have a half day or longer, do yourself a favor and go!!! We carried a lunch and ate on one of the picnic tables.
