THINGS TO DO

  1. Adams Museum & House
"Spent about 2 hours looking through the Adams Museum last summer while in Deadwood. It gives you a good idea about how the people lived (and died) in this raw rowdy town. One room gives you information and history on its famous and (some infamous) citizens like Potato Creek Johnny, Jane and Bill. Another room had info on the "soiled doves". Most of it was full of books, furniture, clothing, guns, hardware and personal objects of the towns people which were very interesting. It gives you a good sense of what life was really like for these folks; which was probably extremely hard unless you were wealthy. Makes one realize that "the good old days" weren't always so good! Well worth the donation and our time!" - a Tripadvisor user
  2. Gulches of Fun Amusement park
"I have not been there but am planning to go with family next summer. I just wanted to say that if "ok to go once" thinks $60 to $80 is a lot of money for a family of 6 for food and amusements all day, he/she must have rocks in his head!!! Just feeding a family of 6 for ONE MEAL usually costs more than that, unless you're used to eating at McDonalds. So if you got entertainment and food all day for that, why in the world are you complaining? If you think that's high, you'd better stay home in front of your TV and eat popcorn!" - a Yahoo user
  3. Black Hills Mining Museum
"The tour here takes 1 hr and is a simulated tour of what an underground mine looks like. All you do is go downstairs and the guide shows you little displays of mining equipment - first the miners used a pick and candle....then one type of machine....then more modern machines....The tour is way too long to hold your attention plus it doesn't even feel like you're in an underground mine. All you see is a bunch of statues dressed like miners and a bunch of old equipment that you have not idea how it works anyway!" - a Tripadvisor user
