Admission : FREE admission -- Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is closed Christmas Day.
Collections: Particular thematic emphasis of the Collection is placed on the history of Southern California and how the railroad aided its development. The locomotive collection includes such significant examples of railroad history as the Stockton Terminal & Eastern No. 1, built by Norris-Lancaster in 1864, with a wheel arrangement of 4-4-0; the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway No. 664, built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1899, with a wheel arrangemnet of 2-8-0; the Soutehrn Pacific No. 3025, built by the Schnectady Locomotive Works in 1904, with a wheel arrangement of 2-8-0; the Pacific Electric No. 1544, the "Electra", an electric steeple-cab built by the North Shore Railway in 1902 and the California Western No. 56, an RS-12 diesel built by the Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton Corporation in 1955. The rolling stock collection features 'The Little Nugget' club-dormitory No. 701 from the Union Pacific Streamliner City of Los Angeles, and the sleeping cars 'Rose Bowl' and 'Hunters Point', both originally form the U.P.'s City of San Francisco.
