Senior Search Engineer

OVERVIEW:

Invent, design, implement and deploy high performance and highly relevant search algorithms for the industry's most comprehensive travel database. Improve the quality of search results, ranking metrics and data mining/analysis tools in all aspects of our platform. We're doing something that has never been done, so innovation and creative solutions are encouraged.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Envision, develop and continually improve high-volume consumer vertical search system.
• Do what it takes to deliver the highest relevancy for travel searches in the industry.
• End to end engineering, from invention, to coding, testing, benchmarking and deployment.

EXPERIENCE:

• You have earned a BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or related fields.
• You have five to seven years internet software development experience with two years search experience.
• UNIX systems and network programming are second nature to you.
• You have a strong foundation in system design, software architecture especially with web technologies.
• Algorithms are a passion and you are fluent in tradeoffs between time and space complexity.
• You have a background in information retrieval, internet search, and/or artificial intelligence.
• You have expertise in data mining, machine learning or web mining.
• If you have past experience with large scale distributed platforms that is a huge plus.
• You are one of the most talented coders you know. You are fast on your feet. You love to dig in and go. You are the go-to person at your current job.
