The City of Buffalo aptly names itself “The Crossroads of Texas.” Less than two hours from the bustling urban cities of Houston, Austin, Dallas, and Tyler, you’ll find Buffalo the perfect base for your romantic vacation getaway.

The Fig Tree Bed & Breakfast, in nearby Palestine, is a sure thing for romantic couples: reasonable rates, elegant yet comfortable rooms, and the delightful owners live right downstairs.  The on-site bistro restaurant provides intimate ambiance, with fresh, well-prepared dinner options.  Travel Guides recommend you save room for Eggs Benedict at breakfast!   We loved the Marjoram Room’s white pedestal sink, shared bathroom with the adjacent Marigold Room accommodating our teenaged son at discounted rates.  We all enjoyed the new pool with the adjacent 8-person hot-tub.

You’ll find more Buffalo area Bed and Breakfast Accommodations at The Hawkins House in the city of Groesbeck.  The rooms are exquisitely decorated with unique extras like the old-fashioned trundle bed found in the Magnolia Room—perfect for young romantic couples traveling with “baby.”  The Hawkins House is kid-friendly—we ran into a group of young ladies enjoying a tea party one afternoon.  Be sure to enjoy “The Grand Room,” located in the common areas.  Filled with antiques and collectibles, you’re sure to be entranced.
