Diamond Head State Monument
"You have to climb for it, but it is a very nice view over Waikiki. The crater is huge, tough to get it all into frame @ 24mm unless you're at the very top. Down the ocean side you can see Diamond Head road. At the base before you start climbing is a yellow bus with yummy (huge) shaved ice treats and water, a must if you're climbing this in the heat. You should be somewhat limber to pull this off." - a Tripadvisor user

Honolulu Zoo
"I just took my 3 children to the Honolulu Zoo in Feb 2006, and wanted to add my 2 cents. If your family enjoys zoos, and has the time & inclination, this zoo is definitely worth a visit. It is a very pleasant zoo on beautiful grounds (the previous reviewer is right about some of the lovely views to be seen from on the zoo grounds). I know that certain guidebooks and reviewers say "stay away, not worth your time", but, coming from a family who was just there, it absolutely was not a disappointment. There was even a path through the "African Savannah" that was open to the some grass-grazing animals and various birds. There was no fence or large barrier! I thought that was quite interesting. I can't quite understand what other people's issues are with the Honolulu Zoo when they criticize it so, but my family thought it was a very nice place to spend an afternoon and see some exotic animals." - a Tripadvisor user

Waikiki Beach
"What I liked was the water was already warm. Watch out for corral as you first step in the ocean and the sandbar. The beaches were secluded but got crowded quickly on weekends but your in a cove so you cannot walk far. Fair sunsets and activites. Overall it is a nice expierence but if your like me from the east coast looking for long walks on the beach, you will not get it." - a Yahoo user
