"I found the managers rude. Front Desk Clerks non professional. The breakfast makes mcdonalds look like fine quisine. When the a/c in our room didn't work to par I was told by the general manager,not to open my door too many times. "Although Fort Matanzas is free most of the time. If you spring for an extra $5/person you can go on the night tour. You have to check at the visitor's center or the website for availability, they don't run all the time. On the night tour you get to watch a total of 4 cannon firings. 2 while you are on the ferry on the way over and 2 watching from behind the fort. Both are a unique and exciting experience. During the evening program the fort is fully staffed with living history interpreters, so you get to see what it really was like. The views of the river and the fort at sunset are the great. "I LOVE THIS STREET! =) It is really nice walking down it in the evening and visiting all the shops. Most of the shops are reasonably priced to take home gifts.
