OUR TAKE ON DAVENPORT
Off the beaten path, located just 10 miles from Walt Disney World, the small city of Davenport, Florida offers a relaxed alternative travel destination to the bustling Orlando area. The city of Davenport, though small, has its own unique charm. Stay in one of the many Davenport accommodations, all conveniently located a short distance away from the local theme parks and attractions, without the stress of a major city. If you’re looking to lap in luxury, we suggest a stay at the Aviana Orlando Resort, where every villa has its own private swimming pool, or for more practical family-friendly lodging, we recommend Best Western Maingate South. With dozens of restaurants to choose from, you’ll never go hungry. For an early morning treat, we recommend the Waffle House, where a hearty meal doesn’t break the bank, and for dinner with an Italian flair, try Mannino Pizzaria, priding itself on having the best New York Style pizza in Florida. Southern Dunes Golf and Country Club
"Situated on Hwy 27th there is easy acces to I-4 and all the attractions without the hassel of heavy traffic. Less than 20 minutes to Disney (real time..not middle of the night in low season!) The homes are built around a magnificent golf course rated in the top 100 of US golf courses. HARLEQUIN VILLA was a dream Homes are of a very high standard not all overlook the golf course." - a Yahoo user

Highlands Reserve Golf Club
"Four of us (2 couples) stayed in a four bedroom villa at The Highlands Reserve for one week in March 2007. The property was very well equipped, and extremely comfortable, with a lovely little pool, even a barbeque and charcoal were supplied! Highlands Reserve is very well located, a supermarket and some restaurants are a stones throw away (in American standards!) and near all the attractions, but far enough away to get away from it all. Highly recommended.. We'll certainly go back! Book with confidence!!!!" - a Tripadvisor user

Gatorland
"Its an ok place. Over priced and living in Florida I guess you seen one aligator you've seen them all.
Out of a 10 I would give it a four. (Needs updating) And should be able to update, 20 bucks a person.. Not real pricey.. But the train ride is ridiculous. (You get on the train ride, because after hours of walking and sweating you want to be refreshed, well, at least I do) So you pay the 850 a person to ride this thing that litterally goes around 1 circle 1 time.)
UMM HELLO - I want my money back.
All in all, its not that bad of a place & I didnt mind getting ripped off for the day, just dont know that I would go again!" - a Yahoo user
