Anne Kolb Nature Center
"My family (husband and two girls, ages 17 and 5) just spent Mother's Day morning at Anne Kolb Nature Center and West Lake Park. For $19 we rented two 2-person kayaks for an hour and bought a few snacks. We enjoyed canoeing the Red Trail. It was completely garbage free, and I loved seeing my 17 year old paddle the lead kayak with my 5 year old sitting in the front. My husband had a great time too. We're not avid kayakers, so this was our speed. The facilities at Anne Kolb Nature Center, such as the bathroom and exhibit hall, were attractive and clean. I remarked to my husband that a) you would spend $50 a person to do this excursion on a cruise and b) this is how Disney would run this facility - natural yet super clean and easy. After kayaking we drove down and across Sheridan Street to pay a $1 per person fee to enter West Lake Park, where my 5 year old enjoyed about 20 minutes of running through the sprinkler-playground in her bathing suit. Since this is mid-May, I was sure to get us there first thing before the heat was too much. We paddled from 9:30 to 10:30 and it was still cool enough." - a Tripadvisor user
