"Although Fort Matanzas is free most of the time. If you spring for an extra $5/person you can go on the night tour. You have to check at the visitor's center or the website for availability, they don't run all the time. On the night tour you get to watch a total of 4 cannon firings. 2 while you are on the ferry on the way over and 2 watching from behind the fort. Both are a unique and exciting experience. During the evening program the fort is fully staffed with living history interpreters, so you get to see what it really was like. The views of the river and the fort at sunset are the great. "There is an entire boat community from Key West, Florida that have been traveling to Bimini for years. This past April we docked at Bimini Blue Water and how very surprised, happy and elated to see an old friend as it's caretaker. Juliam Brown is a gem of a man. He kept of entertained with old tales of Bimini. The Brown's Family have been like our own family since thetime some of us met many years ago. We are boat people, we do not need high tech in a marina, just security and that is you get at Bimini Blue Water. The facilities were clean and the swimming pool and definite plus. Most Marinas do not have a pool. We come to Bimini sevral times a year and there is no other place we would ever consider staying. Thank you all for your kin hospitality. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!
