THINGS TO DO
-
Water World
"Admission is reasonable, concessions are great, and the rides are so much better. Not only is each ride really fun, there are also more of them because it's the largest in Denver. I love this place and it's atmosphere, I feel like I'm away in a tropical paradise right here in Colorado. This place is the best water park in town." - a Go City Kids user

Hyland Hills Water World
"We visited WaterWorld on our way back from our "real" vacation, but we'd definitley go back to Denver just to return to WaterWorld. It was easy to get in (no lines if you purchase your ticket at Safeway), easy to navigate, once we found the rides we all liked the best. Lockers: either all day keyed/or keyless or 50cent 1 time entry. We got one of each due to the size. We carried nothing with us all day! We didn't get the rental tubes because most of the rides we liked had different ones. All the rides were excellent and worth any wait in line. Even our 8 year old went down the tallest and fastest ones. The food coupon we got when we purchased our tix at Safeway was for a personal pan pizza and a large bottled drink. WORTH IT!!! Plenty of food." - a Epinions user

Denver Zoo
"We had a wonderful time at the Denver Zoo! The zoo is neat, clean, and the layout of exhibits are well done. They offer "free days" to the public a few days a year - see their website for the exact days. We went on Nov 5, 2006 - one of their free days. The line to get in was down the block when we arrived about 9:50am and they were to open at 10am. Parking was not a problem at that time but lots of people were still coming. Once in line, we only had to wait 3 min before they opened the gates. And the line moved very, very quickly to get inside since there were no tickets or anything needed. Maps were available in a box once inside. The first couple of animal exhibits were the only ones that were crowded but then people seemed to spread out over the large zoo and we did not feel crowded at all. They have the usual zoo animals - elephant, zebra, tiger, etc. Plus indoor areas with reptiles, birds, apes, etc. They also have a train ride (takes 5 min) and a carousel. Each costs $2 per person to ride (not free) but the kids thought it was worth it! We stayed 2 hrs and on the way out, the zoo got very crowded. The parking lot was overflowing with lots of people trying to find parking spots. I just read the other person's review and agree 100% - arrive early when they open and bring lots of water to drink!!! We did not know you could bring food and drink in there so we didn't. People actually brought wagons full of coolers and picnic baskets and had picnic lunches around the zoo. I wish we would have known that. About 1 hr after we got there, we were very, very thirty. The open consession stand was only selling cotton candy. By the time the grill opened, the lines were very long. We decided to see a couple of more exhibits and leave. That took us 1 hr since what we wanted to see was on the opposite side of the zoo. The zoo is spread out and we walked about 1.5 - 2 miles total that day. By the time we got back to our car, we had migraine headaches from dehydration and the alitude. So if you go - bring lots of WATER to drink! It was a nice and ejoyable zoo to visit. Well kept up. Even though some of the animals were not cooperating....we wanted to see the kangeroo but they stayed laying down on the ground in the background resting where we couldn't see them! Oh, well! I would recommened visiting the Denver Zoo to everyone!!!" - a Tripadvisor user
