The Los Angeles basin side of the San Gabriel Mountains drive to La Canada via the I-210 (Foothill Freeway) to State Highway 2 (Angeles Crest Highway) off ramp, exit the freeway and turn north uphill towards the mountains. Stay on State Highway 2 9 miles to the Angeles Forest Highway (County N-3), turn left headed towards Palmdale. Proceed north 14.5 miles to Mill Creek Summit to where the Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17) turns left going north- turn left. Proceed along the ridge west 9 miles to where the pavement ends thesecond time turn left following the pavement south another ��� mile on road 3N32 to the white gate, the entrance to Lighnting Point Group Campground. The High Desert side of the San Gabriel Mountains exit off State 14 (Antelope Valley Freeway) at the Angeles Forest Highway exit (about 5 miles south of Palmdale) ? from Palmdale turn right onto Sierra Highway, from Canyon Country turn left onto Sierra Highway. Immediately turn south off Sierra Highway onto the Angeles Forest Highway (County N-3) and go uphill to Mill Creek Summit 10 miles. At Mill Creek Summit where the Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17) turns right going north- turn right. Proceed along the ridge west 9 miles to where the pavement ends the second time turn left following the pavement south another ��� mile on road 3N32 to the white gate, the entrance to Lighnting Point Group Campground.
