Bell, California

Bell, California Hotels, Things to do, and Vacation Information.

Bell, California is a small charter city located in Los Angeles County, less than 10 miles south of L.A. itself.  The City Chamber, located in the home of Bell’s founding father (James George Bell,) houses a free museum with period furniture and antiques.  The adjacent cities of Bell Gardens and Bell Flower were named after the same influential pioneer.

Because of its convenient location just off the Long Beach Interstate, Bell is a great place for establishing your lodging during your stay in the Greater Los Angeles area. With over a third of the residents under 18 years, Bell works hard to provide a kid-friendly, safe atmosphere.  Bell is proud of its parks, and offers an indoor municipal swimming pool for swimming, diving, and other water-sport activities.

Be sure to visit Gage Mansion, and the century-old Peterson House, in nearby Bell Gardens.  Gage Mansion (built in 1810, known as Casa de San Antonio) is the oldest standing home in Los Angeles and recognized as State Monument no. 984.

We recommend the Budget Inn at Bellflower for your stay in this area.  With comfortable rooms, a lovely outdoor swimming pool, and continental breakfast included, the Inn was kid-friendly and easy on our budget.  The staff was helpful, providing good directions and advice during our visit.
