Benicia CA Beaches & Beach Vacations -- Plan a Beach Party!

Benicia California is part of the San Francisco Bay area, but you’ll have to travel west for beach access on the Pacific Ocean!  If California history interests you, impressive Victorian homes line the picturesque neighborhood streets.  This city was voted the best place to raise children in California, so it’s definitely kid-friendly with plenty of small town charm.  Benicia was an early California capital before it was moved to Sacramento, and you can visit the only surviving Capitol building here.  Benicia is a waterfront community, with an impressive state park for cyclists, runners, horseback riding, and roller skaters.  The park is pet-friendly, dogs are welcomed, but expected to be leashed.  Check the City Chamber’s website for links to lodging, dining, and area attractions.  We found the Union Hotel a great place for luxury-minded visitors, hoping to escape busy San Francisco.  All rooms are beautifully furnished, with Jacuzzi Suites available.  The large bathrooms and thoughtful amenities make the Union Hotel the best choice for that special vacation.

The Benicia Marina and Benicia Yacht Club host parades, salmon fishing contests, powerboat expositions, and even an annual sailor’s ball!  Only two blocks from the downtown area, Benicia’s Marina has fuel, restrooms and showers, a general store, and even laundry facilities.
