OUR TAKE ON MOUNTAIN VIEW

Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, north of Little Rock, Mountain View, Arkansas, offers travelers a glimpse into local culture and crafts, trophy fishing, outdoor adventure, and unique shops for local artwork and antiques.

Explorers of all ages will be thrilled to discover Blanchard Springs Cavern, dubbed as “one of the most extraordinary finds of the century.”  The caves are actually in the process of being formed.  Young kids, teens, and adults are sure to enjoy exploring the water carved passages, with their tour guide.  Two extensive paths into the caves are paved and handicapped accessible.  Be sure to check out the National Park’s website for a Mountain View Arkansas that appeals to kids, families, and where your pet is welcome!

A special treat for young children is the Ozark Folk Center at Mountain View.  Special family tickets are available so you can spend the day enjoying the center and the added fun of a folk music festival to your day.  Ozark hospitality make this Folk Center a great choice for young families on a limited budget.  The on-site restaurant is noted for their family-oriented atmosphere and kids delight in seeing birds, raccoons, foxes, and even bears approaching the feeding area nearby.

Older kids enjoy the adventure of overnight floats available on nearby Buffalo River, also known as America’s first National River as of 1972.  There’s 150 miles of free flowing water with breathtaking views of  the bluffs lining the river.  For the best selection of float options,“Wild Bill’s Outfitters” is endorsed by the National Parks Service.

Mountain View Arkansas is a great vacation option for families and adults who enjoy outdoor activity.  If city nightlife and clubbing highlight your entertainment options, Mountain View might not be the best choice.  For families, fishermen, campers, and backpackers, don’t miss this hidden jewel of the Ozarks: Mountain View, Arkansas.
