Picacho Peak State Park
"Picacho peak is the best hike known to mankind. I have done many other trails all over the southwest, and I have never seen such a place. Hunter trail is probably the best one there is, but i have done all of the others, and they are great too. Hunter is pretty tough (with rocky steep parts) but the views are well worth it. You can see for miles at the top, and you feel like you are on top of the world. If you are a hiker, and are near the Tucson/Phoenix you should try Picacho peak. Go in the spring, when there are tons of wildflowers-gorgous!" - a Tripadvisor user

Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch
"A quick, fun stop between Tucson and Phoenix is the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch (-) at exit 219 on Interstate 10 (you can't miss the signs). A nominal admission scores you a rather big bag of feed, and the ostriches have their eye on that bag the minute you step through the gate. They are fearsome but entertaining eaters; when you try to throw the feed into the provided pans half the time they catch it in their mouths before it even hits the pan. It's just amazing to see so many of them in one spot. Nearby are much gentler deer that will eat the same feed right out of your hand. A bunch of ostrich things are for sale there, and my 13-year-old spent more souvenir money there than anyplace else in Arizona. (The ostrich egg even made it home on the plane in one piece.)" - a Tripadvisor user
