The National Arbor Day Foundation has presented the city of
Foley the Tree City Award for the city’s efforts to conserve its environment,
an advocacy that is supported by the residents primarily because of Foley’s
location, which is along the Gulf Coast.
However, Foley vacations are not just
excursions for the environmental advocates. Foley vacations are family
vacations, especially when the family members are into the arts and adventure.
Foley has an Art Center which is
the home of a non-profit volunteer organization called the Foley Performing
Arts. The center has a gallery that displayed the masterpieces of more than 300
artists and craftsmen. The organization also conducts various art activities
that encourage creativity in children. This is why Foley vacations are not only
kid-friendly but kid-nurturing as well. The major and most publicized activity
is the Annual Art in the Park, which is held in the middle of May.
For the adventurers in the family, summer is the best time for Foley vacations because of the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival. The family can enjoy the spectacular show of colorful hot air balloons as well as enjoy other activities such as visiting the children’s village, using remote control airplanes, observing a NASA demonstration, joining helicopter rides, watching live musical entertainment, and competing in the motorcycle poker run.
